Painted Metallic

This weekend I had a family get together. No, my weekends are not usually this hectic! I wore a painted metallic sweater from H&M and my challenge was to find a way to make it less New Year's appropriate and more everyday appropriate. Pairing metallic items with dark solid colored pants or shirts is a great way to do this. That is why I paired this sweater with navy blue high-waist pants. Another way it can be transformed into an everyday staple is to wear a button down shirt under the sweater. You can add your own twist to this by wearing a button down with a pattern like polka dots. The sweater is H&M, the pants are H&M, the necklace is Givenchy, and the watch is from Francesca's Boutique.

Animal Instincts

This weekend I went to a fancy shmancy party at my mom's friend's house and my animal intincts definitely came out. I looked like a snear (snake bear)! But I do think that animal print is going to be big in 2012. It was a lot of fun seeing everybody, chatting it up with them, and (of course) eating amazing food. This was the outfit I wore. I was trying to go for a classy, yet a bit edgy, take on a timeless faux fur coat. The snakeskin printed dress is Tracy Reese, the bronze shoes are Jessica Simpson, and the faux fur coat is Gallery. I tried to add a bit of glitz and glamour with crystal earrings, a bracelet, and a silver ring.

Do you think you will display your animal instincts during 2012? ?

2012 Inspiration

2012 Inspiration

Happy New Year Everybody! Start the New Year with a new wardrobe! This year I would like to build my wardrobe around vintage inspired pieces. I made this inspiration board to guide me (and hopefully inspire you too) to add timeless pieces into my outfits. I would also like to buy clothes with different materials, styles, and patterns and experiment with them. May this year be the best of our fashion lives!
